Beech caves (updated)

Has anyone Searched by here ?

www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.9412172,-2.221616,441m/data=!3m1!1e3

Yes - they have been searched.

Not sure on that one. Is that Woodview Farm

I know these caves well. There are a couple of small ledges where one could get up and stay without being seen if they were a good climber or had the right access gear. For quickness if anyone wants to help me check just by footing my specialist ladder for me I'm willing have a look. I have some very powerful lights so darkness not an issue. On the other hand Staffs Search and Rescue might have been up to these ledges already.

Yes your right about the ledges etc I think it's work a second look on top of the ledges etc

i can help you look but i dont have transport.

Where you based Chris?

halmerend near audley

Okay, Chris, that's possible for me. Will be in touch.

.

Emma Louise Did Joshua Like Fishing or Hunting ? Clay Pigeon Shooting etc ? He would need a Location with food wouldnt he ? Especially after Two weeks

I'm going this afternoon with all my access kit in case its needed for a thorough search. If anyone can foot a specilaist ladder for me it will speed things up.

Searched 2 out of 3 high ledges - clear (hope this gives hope). One of the ledges appears deep from the ground but its very narrow when you get up. The other again appears deceptive from the ground but drops off when you're there - nothing been up here in years. There is a third very high ledge - to access it I need a longer rope and someone on standby. In fact someone has bolted (badly) three climbing bolts up to it and I am convinced the only way into it would be rope access from the outside or a very long ladder from inside. I looked at the top of the cliff in case anyone has been along it and into this window but nothing. Checked the rest of the cliff top and wood (there's a well worn and used path) and over the dell the other side of the road. I don't mind coming back with a longer rope to get onto the the high window but as I might need to alter angle of ropes to aid descent then I do need a ground person. I am convinced though no one has been into this previously from the bit I could get to. I checked a filed in section too that has had some asbestos sheeting dumped. I hope this assessment of clear ledges helps and gives hope. All my thoughts with the family and friends.

Wow you sure did do a good job 👍 I think that's some thing to be ruled out now then I just couldn't get the ledges out my mind cuz of when we used to hang around them I can remember a lad always climbing up and sitting on it.... if you couldn't gain access to the 3rd ledge without rope then pretty sure it's safe to say he wouldn't be up there unless he's known to climb with ropes etc? Thank you for going to check 👍
