Claire Towey

We've issued a renewed appeal for the public's help to trace a woman who is missing from Stoke-on-Trent.

Officers have been searching for 30-year-old Claire Towey, who is from the Bentilee area, since she was reported missing on Tuesday 27 September.

An initial appeal was issued to local media back in October after numerous inquiries to locate Claire proved fruitless. At this time she had been spoken to by phone but would not tell officers of her whereabouts.

Claire is described as white, 5ft 3ins tall with a stocky build and has short dark brown hair. It is not known what she is wearing.

DI Phil Bryan, of the Force Safeguarding and Investigations, said: "Claire has been missing for a significant period of time now but we believe she is still in the Stoke-on-Trent.

"It is not unusual for Claire not to be seen or heard from for some time and she has previously been missing for a number of weeks.

"However, we remain committed to finding her, actively working with her family, associates and the local media to glean information.

"Claire's case has been regularly reviewed and we are very keen to trace her.

"If you're reading this Claire please get in touch or call into your nearest Police Station, we just want to know you're okay.

"Likewise, anyone who thinks they may have seen Claire please contact us on 101, quoting incident number 598 of September 27."

'Distraught' girlfriend of teenage rugby player missing since being kicked out of nightclub appeals for help

The "distraught" girlfriend of a teenage rugby player missing since being kicked out of a nightclub has issued a desperate appeal for help.

Rugby player Henry Burke, 19, vanished minutes after texting his girlfriend Emma Comley, 20, to say he loved her.

His pals said he was ejected from a club in Bath, Somerset, after stepping between two fighting clubbers just minutes into Friday morning.

Police were called when the second year Geography student didn't come home or turn up for work as a tour guide at Bath Abbey on Friday.

The super-fit gym fanatic's last text to his girlfriend said "I'm p****d not going to lie. I love this baby".

CCTV stills from Zero Zero nightclub show him "leaving in a huff and puff," according to musical theatre student Emma.

She fears the Bath Spa University student's drink was spiked and his phone was lost and is urging locals to go out and look for the teenager.

The 20-year-old posted two pictures of her boyfriend on Facebook and wrote that she was “feeling distraught”.

She also asked if people knew anything about Henry's disappearance to let her know.

Emma added: “I’ve never been so completely terrified and utterly desperate in my entire life."

Speaking today, she said: "I haven't seen him for a couple of days but when he left me I did a pouty face and I remember him saying to me 'don't worry, it's only two days'.

"I wasn't going to go out on Thursday night but he was joking with me and saying I was an old lady and no fun, so I went out.

"I went out in Bristol and he went out in Bath and we were texting each other throughout the night.

"I wasn't drinking at all but he was the complete opposite.

"By midnight he was completely trashed. He was texting me through the night and he could barely type.

"He's a real soppy drunk and he was saying 'I love you so much' and 'I'm so happy with us'.

"The last message he sent me said 'I'm p****d not going to lie. I love this baby' and I think he meant he loved us.

"After that my messages to him weren't delivering. The last message I got from him was 12.04. I was getting more and more frantic.

Sad news. A body has been found in the search for this young man. It has not been identified yet but I will post when they are sure.

"He goes out all the time and he is really responsible. He has never not come home. It's really out of character.

"Apparently there was a scrap between two people just before he left and he tried to break that up.

"That's how we believe he got kicked out the club as it was misinterpreted and he left in a huff and a puff.

"I think he has lost his phone, hasn't been able to get in touch with anyone, and maybe his drink has been spiked and could have affected him to behave differently than he normally would.

"I'm praying he is just recovering somewhere."

Emma said Henry always texts her at 2am to tell her he has made it home.

He was out with people he lived with in student halls of residence the year before, but nobody saw him leave the club and police are now checking his bank accounts, Emma said.

She said he often steps in to split up fights, and admit his actions can be misinterpreted, but he "always means well".

She said he has never gone missing before and it is highly unusual for him not to turn up to his new job at Bath Abbey, which he loves.

His home is a 25-minute walk from the nightclub, and Emma said he could have tried to visit other pubs and clubs after leaving Zero Zero.

She said his family, including dad Paul, a sales director, mum Sarah, a teacher, and younger brothers, aged 11 and 17, had come from Milton Keynes to Bath to help find him.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We're appealing for public help to locate a missing man.

"Henry Burke, 19, from Bath, was last seen at approximately midnight on Thursday at the Zero Zero nightclub on George Street in the city.

"Henry is white with dark brown hair and of a muscular build.

"We have a number of ongoing enquiries to locate Henry but would ask anyone who might have seen him last night to contact us now."
