Barlaston Downs banks
Barlaston Downs is a national trust area of outstanding beauty frequented by hundreds of dog walkers ramblers and hikers. There are hills covered in heather and bracken, wooded areas and a babbling brook at the bottom of the valley. We spent many a happy hour there as children playing in the brook and walking over the hills. In between the A34 and Longton road, just off Washdale lane it is well within walking distance from Stone with many ways of getting there, Mount road, Old road, Meaford road and the canal to name but a few.
Area I've covered today at Barlaston Downs. Only track I've used is coming in from The Upper House car park and then got back on track to go back... been amongst the trees alongside the stream on the opposite side from my approach, been up and down the bank again from my approach, then amongst all the trees and overgrowth at the back of the stream. Asked a group of 20+ walkers to keep a look out. And bumped into 5 other searchers on my way back. Good luck for today. Take care.

Husbands route around Barlaston Downs but the photos he has took when going on the paths look pretty dense. It was busy again with dog walkers as it is most weekends so not sure how likely it is that Josh would be there.
