CCTV footage showed Joshua Smith near the Three Crowns pub at around 8.30 on the day be vanished
The family of Joshua Smith have released more information about the events leading up to his disappearance.
The 27-year-old, from the Aston area of Stone, has been missing since the morning of Tuesday October 25.
Police, search and rescue units and his family and volunteers have been combing the countryside every day since – and the search is set to continue over the weekend.
Joshua's sister Hannah Buckley gave some details of the search plan for the coming days.
She said: "It's now been a week and a half since Josh left us. Each passing day produces more questions than answers.
"The police will be conducting a finger tip search of the area between the canal and the river, focusing on the south.
"CCTV reviewed so far has not ruled out any routes, however there have been no confirmed sightings of Josh since Tuesday at 08:38 in Copeland Drive, heading towards the canal."
Public searches will also take place today on the cycle path between A34 Stone to Stafford, focusing on fields and woodland along Enson Lane and Marston Lane as well as the canal from Aston Marina north, up to and including Barlaston Downs and Maer hills.

Hannah also added further details about Joshua's activities in the days and hours before he went missing.
She said: "Josh made his sandwiches for work the night before but did not take them with him.
"He was due in for work at 08:30 and was generally the first to arrive. He was not seen at the crossings until 08:34. Josh's phone has been switched off since 08:03 and is untraceable. His bank account has not been accessed.
"Josh purchased a euthanasia drug online, this was delivered on Monday 24.10.2016. His internet history confirms purchase of the drug and his mindset, which we determine to be suicidal.
"Josh did not call in sick to work on Tuesday morning. He was last seen at 07:50 having breakfast with mum.
"Approximately 5.30pm Andy discovered Josh had not been at work on the Tuesday. Police were called at approximately 6pm. Nembutal was discovered under the bed."
Anyone with information on Joshua's whereabouts is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 639 of October 25.
If he is found people should call for immediate medical attention for him on 999 before contacting police.
He may have taken a harmful substance and, to avoid transfer, people are advised to avoid direct physical contact with him.
